Now i’m going to go over lubricant ingredients. there isn’t too much to go into,, The ingredients you want to AVOID in lubricants are:
- Glycerin – This ingredient is more likely to be found in flavoured and warming lubes. Glycerin is a byproduct of sugar,, you don’t necessarily want to be putting sugars in your holes. Sugars can cause irritation and yeast infections. You can still use it, but if any irritation occurs, stop use immediately.
- Parabens – Parabens in general are something you should avoid, let alone putting it inside of your holes. The FDA hasn’t proved that parabens are directly harmful, but there’s research that states why it can be harmful. (do your own research lol). Any product adding in “-paraben” is something to avoid.
- Petroleum and petroleum based products (vaseline) – Petroleum is an oil which can cause condoms and toys to break down. It also can invite harmful bacterias into your holes. Also with it being an oil, it may contain nasty chemicals </3
- Propylene glycol – This is probably the biggest one to avoid. Propylene glycol is a chemical that’s found in a lot of cosmetic products, but is also used in ANTI-FREEZE!!!!!! It’s known to be a common skin irritant.
Lubricants that have one or more of these ingredients: JO h20, most ID lubes, Fuck water water-based and fuck water clear, gun oil h20.
LUBRICANTS FREE OF THESE HARMFUL INGREDIENTS: ID Free (no parabens or glycerin, Sutil & Hathor, Slippery Stuff.
It’s important to read the ingredients of what you’re putting in your body, AND to know what your body personally dislikes. The ingredients listed above are for water and silicone based lubes, however silicone seems to be more free of most of these ingredients. There’s more ingredients you should avoid but i only went over the common ones 🙂 A simple google search of “what ingredients should i avoid in lubricant” and you can get into the finer details of it lol. Because the potentially harmful ingredients are probably cheaper to produce, inexpensive lubricants are more likely to contain these ingredients and you’ll be paying more for something all natural.
